Our Children Are...What Our Children Eat - Introduction
It is my mission to help create health and happiness for all children.
One result will be peace at home; another will be peace in the classroom. It is
my mission to give them nutritional solutions. There has been a tremendous rise
in many physical as well as mental/emotional health conditions in children
today. Many kids are now labeled ADD and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder) and many have learning disorders.
Most all children are eating the same foods: sodas, juice drinks, macaroni and
cheese, pizza, sugary cereals, French fries, chocolate, frozen yogurt, and ice
cream. The kids with asthma, allergies, AD/HD, eczema, and leukemia are eating
the same foods as the kids who are considered “normal”, unlabeled, or
undiagnosed. And by the way, who says that the children with ADD or ADHD are not
normal? I am very concerned about all the children, even the kids with no
problems.
We have a serious situation and that is one of deficient nutrition. If this
deficiency isn’t hitting now or isn’t manifesting into a problem yet, it will in
the years to come and that may be sooner than we think. This is something that I
know can be avoided or reversed, as can all things, with the desire and intent
to do it and knowledge about how to.
Childhood obesity is at about 25% now in North America, childhood leukemia is on
the rise, and children are showing up with acid reflux, skin and respiratory
disorders, high cholesterol, as well as mild and severe depression. They are
more aggressive and violent now than ever. A whopping ten percent of the school
population in the U.S. was diagnosed with ADD or ADHD by January 1998.
ADD/ADHD is the #1 psychiatric disorder among kids. Do you believe that these
children are all sick? A mental disease? Do our children, our students, have
mental illnesses? Or are many of them falsely diagnosed and under-nourished?
Yes, we have wonderful experts and diagnostic tools with which to assess things,
but could it be that something so simple ---- nutritional gaps, missing
nutrients, could be a large part of the problem – a missing link? You may find
many answers in the following pages.
Parents, children, teachers, nutritionists, and other people who work with and
care for children have found answers and ------- they are living them.
These solutions are drug-free and within our reach. So reach out and you’ll be
on your way!
I don’t believe that the kids are only having problems because of bad parenting
or bad teaching. I am however, sure the causes of the behavior, health, and
academic issues, are multi-faceted – and this includes nutritional. In fact,
poor nutrition is at the top of the list. It is the missing piece to the puzzle.
I know this for two reasons:
First, scientific research points to some very specific nutritional culprits
causing behavioral, emotional, and mental health problems in children. You will
find many of these studies in this book. Second, I also have seen astounding
results with the children in my practice, using sound nutritional principles,
extraordinary foods, and superb nutritional products.
I am rewarded with the knowingness that the work I am doing is life-changing for
me, because I watch and listen to parents, children, and families all over the
country make their life changes – on their own --- by their own decision, by
their own doing ---- with just some information ---- like the information that
follows.
Thank you for reading.
