SCICN, Inc. is an integrated health and nutrition center dedicated to helping individuals and families create health, vitality and longevity. Dr. Laura Thompson is the CEO and Founder of SCICN. She has a Ph.D. in Nutrition and Human Behavior and is a Naturopathic Endocrinologist, specializing in natural hormone programs, weight loss and individual and family nutrition.

Consultations and Clinical Evaluations
Scheduled consultations are held either by telephone or at our Carlsbad office.

Your initial clinical evaluation includes an extensive health history and metabolic screening. At this time, Dr. Thompson will determine which lab tests to order to address your specific health concerns – salivary hormone, bio terrain urine, stool. If you have tested before your initial consult, then Dr. Thompson may include a nutritional assessment of that test at this time. Your health goals are determined and dietary and supplements recommendations are offered.

Frequency of your consultations
The successful outcome of your program is attained by having regular consultations with the doctor. This is usually at 2 week intervals but may be more or less frequent depending on your program and your goals. It is especially important at the beginning of a nutritional program and definitely required if you are on a natural hormone program.

These re-assessments are crucial to the practitioner’s ongoing evaluation of your response to the recommended program. Additionally, this means that your more obvious symptoms will often clear long before their cause has been removed or effectively managed. After the initial stage of your program, consults are scheduled at 3-4 week intervals.

Appointments

• Follow up phone and in–office consults are scheduled in 15, 30, 45 or 60 minute blocks of time.
• As a courtesy, we call to confirm your appointment 24 hours in advance. Therefore we ask that you assume full responsibility in honoring your scheduled appointment.
• First time appointments require a 48-hour cancellation notice. As a courtesy, we call to confirm, 3 days prior to your appointment.

• Dr. Thompson will call you within 15 minutes of your scheduled time, so please keep your phone line clear.
• If paying by credit card, the card number is required to be on file with our office prior to the consultation.
• Checks are accepted if received prior to the consult.
If a cell phone consultation is held and the cell phone disconnects, the regular consultation fee will be charged.

• Dr. Thompson may require a variety of testing, including saliva, hormone, urine, and/or stool tests.
• The samples are taken in your home and sent to the specialty laboratories and the results will be sent to SCICN prior to your scheduled appointment.
• Dr. Laura Thompson will evaluate the results and you will be contacted to schedule a ”report of findings” appointment.
• A delay in performing your test and sending it to the lab will cause a delay in your appointment schedule, report of findings, and suggested program.
• If you have results of other tests from within the last six months, we suggest you send or fax a copy to us before your schedule appointment.

• Payment is due at the time of consultation.
• Methods of payment are: Personal check, Cash, Visa, MasterCard.
• Balance must be paid before a new consultation or order is received.

• Orders are shipped within 48 hours of receipt unless otherwise stated. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are not included.
• Normally orders are shipped USPS. Special shipping arrangements can be made for overnight, 2nd day, etc. Shipments to Canada are best with Fed Ex.
• Cream orders are normally shipped within 48 hours.
• You may order products between consultations, if you are running low. Stay on the recommended program until your next consultation.

• Pre – approval is required on all returns.
• Refrigerated items CANNOT be returned.
• 15% restocking fee of purchase prices less shipping and handling will be refunded on unopened and non-refrigerated items.
• No supplements returns will be accepted after 60 days on all regularly stocked items. Special orders CANNOT be returned.
• Endocrine creams which are special orders, can not be returned.
• Prepaid tests can be returned for credit within one year of purchase.
